With funding provided by the Giving Together Hurricane Matthew Relief Fund of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc., the disaster response program of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church (NC Conference) welcomes a new construction manager, Stephanie Hunt. The funding also provides Stephanie a new work truck.
Though she comes from Virginia, Stephanie is not new to the NC Conference. She first came to work with the disaster response program in 2014 as a site coordinator in Hertford, after tornadoes damaged property around Highway 17. In 2016, she returned to the Virginia Conference of The UMC when tornadoes damaged property there. Now, Stephanie returns to the NC Conference where she is based in Fayetteville. Her energy and easy rapport with teams are just two of the reasons she is welcomed back to the NC Conference.
This grant, awarded in late 2017, will benefit Cumberland County residents affected by Hurricane Matthew by increasing the number of homes being repaired simultaneously in the county.
