There’s no better time than Lent to give of our resources to help others in need. Consider a One Great Hour of Sharing offering through your local church on Sunday March 6, 2016, to enable the compassionate ministry of UMCOR to continue around the world.
“And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that … you may share abundantly in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8, NRSV).
Since 1940, the Methodist Church has been responding to desperate humanitarian needs around the world. Today, UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) responds to natural and humanitarian disasters, offering aid in Jesus’ name to those that are suffering. The One Great Hour of Sharing raises funds necessary to administer UMCOR’s disaster response, enabling all other UMCOR donations to go 100 % to relief. UMCOR’s administrative costs are below 10 %. UMCOR receive no monies from church apportionments.
