Thank you for the overwhelming response so far to the appeal for Food Buckets for the people of Sierra Leone who have been affected by the Ebola virus crisis. This crisis has made many people food insecure—particularly those who have been stigmatized by having the virus themselves or in their families. These food buckets will be distributed to those persons by the staff of the Sierra Leone Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Although this collection of Food Buckets will become a gift to one of our visiting preachers for Annual Conference, Bishop John Yambasu, all food buckets and food items need to go to the Mission Warehouse at 3MC (676 Community Drive, Goldsboro).
We CANNOT receive food buckets or any other kind of UMCOR kit at Annual Conference this year because of space constraints.
The Missions Warehouse will be open from Monday to Friday, May 11-15, 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm. A work day has been scheduled for May 16 to finalize the shipment at the warehouse.
Alternatively, for Churches that need a closer drop-off point, please consider taking your materials to these sites before May 14 (after ascertaining the particular office hours of that Church):

Emmanuel UMC in Burlington
Fuqua-Varina UMC
St. Luke UMC in Sanford
