Missionary Mozart Adevu (#13996Z), Africa regional coordinator with UMCOR, will be in NC from November 28 – December 11, 2014. Mozart Adevu teaches cutting-edge agricultural techniques to West African farmers, as part of UMCOR’s Sustainable Agriculture and Development Program (#982188). He is eager to share how equipping communities to fight hunger through sustainable agriculture is transforming communities, helping African nations address one of the root causes of poverty. UMCOR’s Sustainable Agriculture Program introduced modern beekeeping to Liberia, Sierra Leone, and portions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Farmers in Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the DRC are being trained to cultivate and harvest the fast growing Moringa plant.
