As of: 06-06-2013 Six days into Hurricane Season and we have our first named storm, Andrea. While this storm seems to be relatively weak and fast moving, people and communities need to make preparations for a quick moving storm. Andrea’s path and effects seems to be moving in and through our area on Thursday evening and Friday with probable heavy rains and possible small-scale tornadoes.
Keep updated on storm location at The Weather Channel and the National Hurricane Center, taking precautions for family and community. This would be a good time for those churches with Disaster Reponse (ERT) Teams to check their overall readiness to respond if needed. The season is upon us.
After it is safe to do so, if there is significant storm damage in your area, or if you need assistance due to storm damage, please call your District Disaster Response Coordinator. They will also convey the information to your district superintendent and assistant to the DS.

If we need volunteers, this will be the place for you to register. We do continue to need volunteers for Hurricane Irene recovery and continue to accept volunteers for this on-going work.
