If you have an OPALS user account, then you can reserve resources in the OPALS system directly. You may also make requests by using the Resource Request Form or contacting the Media Center directly.
First, be sure that you are logged in. You should see your username in the upper right corner of the screen.
From your search results, click on a resource’s title to view its record. While viewing the item record, click on the Reserve button above the orange title. If you don’t see this button, you need to log in.
On the next screen, you may be asked to provide your username/barcode. Enter the username you used to log in to OPALS. This is usually your first initial and last name. If you already see your username displayed, you can skip this step.
You should see the title of the item under Item(s) to Reserve in the middle of the screen. Click the Reserve button in the middle of the screen to make the reservation. DO NOT enter a reservation date. If you would like to reserve an item for a later date, contact the Media Center directly or use the Resource Request Form.
You will see a confirmation screen next, and the title will show up in your reserved item list in your online account. If the confirmation message says this item is on Hold for you, then it will be mailed to you the next business day, and you will receive an email at that time. If you prefer to pick up the item, contact the Media Center or use the Resource Request Form.
If the confirmation message says Reservation for this title completed successfully, then this item is currently checked-out, but it will be mailed to you when it is returned, and you will receive an email at that time.
If you prefer not to use the reservations feature, you may use the Resource Request Form or contact the Media Center directly.
